Designed With the Host and Guest of Honour in Mind

The Harlow Exchange was created by Mark and Anna Eadie. A wedding and events photographer and an events professional who wanted to build something Winnipeg didn't have. Mark brings over 100 weddings of experience, an instinctive understanding of light, and a photographer's eye for what makes a space perform on camera. Anna brings years of hands-on event production, understanding how a celebration needs to flow so that the host can actually be present and the guest of honour feels genuinely celebrated. Together, they designed a space that works as beautifully for an intimate shower as it does for a wedding day.

Anna understands what separates a memorable shower from a stressful one. The prep room is stocked and ready for vendor setup. The load-in is easy. The layout makes sense. The details that hosts usually have to fight for — vendor freedom, a private space, a timeline that doesn't feel rushed — are built into every booking at The Harlow Exchange. You bring the vision. The space handles the rest.

Mark is also available to photograph your shower if you'd like your venue and photographer handled together. He knows the light in this building better than anyone. Entirely optional — the space works beautifully with any photographer you bring.

How far in advance should we book?

How long can we rent the venue for a shower?

Bookings start at one hour and run up to twelve hours. Most bridal and baby showers book three to five hours, which gives comfortable time for setup, the celebration itself and teardown. Book only the hours you need — there are no minimum packages.


Is alcohol allowed at bridal and baby showers?

Yes. It is suggested to contact the LGCA to inquire whether your event requires a permit. Your caterer or bartender can advise on the appropriate steps based on how you plan to serve.


Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes. The Harlow Exchange has no house caterer and no restrictions on outside vendors. You are welcome to bring any licensed caterer you choose. A prep room and kitchenette are available for food staging and service.


Can we bring our own cake or desserts?

Absolutely. Outside cakes, cupcakes, dessert tables and sweet displays are all welcome. There are no restrictions on outside food at The Harlow Exchange. Bring your favourite baker.


Can we have music at our shower?

Absolutely. A Bluetooth speaker is included with every booking — connect and play whatever sets the mood for your celebration. Music is always welcome and we simply ask that it stays at a conversational level.


How much does it cost to rent the venue for a bridal or baby shower?

Is parking available near the venue?

Parking near The Harlow Exchange is easy. Multiple public lots are within a half block, street parking is free on Saturdays, and completely free all day Sunday. The Exchange District location is also accessible by transit from across the city.


Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The Harlow Exchange is located on the second floor of a heritage 1880 building. There is no elevator access to the venue floor. We recommend reaching out directly if you have specific accessibility questions so we can help plan accordingly.


Is the venue private during our shower?

Yes. Every booking receives exclusive access to the full space during your reserved time block. No other events, no shared common areas, no interruptions. The venue is entirely yours from the first hour to the last.


What is included in the prep room?

The 500 square foot prep room includes a kitchenette and dedicated space for vendor setup, food staging, gift storage and any behind-the-scenes preparation. It keeps the main hall clear and ready for guests while your team gets everything in place.


How does vendor load-in work?

The Harlow Exchange has a service elevator accessible from the rear alley, making vendor load-in straightforward for caterers, florists and décor teams. Your vendors can load in during your booked hours — we recommend building setup time into your booking.


How does the booking process work?

Check availability on our pricing page, select your date and hours, and confirm with a deposit. Once your deposit is received, the date is yours. We recommend booking your preferred date as early as possible, particularly for weekend mornings and afternoons.


Are weekday shower bookings available?

Yes. Weekday bookings are available any day of the week at the same rate. Many hosts prefer weekday dates for greater scheduling flexibility and a quieter Exchange District experience. Availability is often better on weekdays with shorter notice.


Can we have a photographer at our shower?
